We are Catrinel Pauna and Petru Didi Antonovici and we are the breeders of Karpaten Irbis and Donau Wirbeln Deutsch Kurzhaars. We have always loved hunting dogs and Deutsch Kurzhaar is our favourite breed. Didi started going hunting as a child and he had dogs around him since childhood.  Catrinel got her first Deutsch Kurzhaar as a teenager and since then she became a Deutsch Kurzhaar enthusiast.  

We are both judges approved by the Romanian Kennel Club. Catrinel is a show judge for some breeds from FCI groups 6, 7, 8 & 10, while Didi is a show judge for some breeds from FCI groups 6 & 7 and also a hunting dogs working judge.

We have always appreciated the German bloodlines as these are the result of a rigorous selection. All German Kurzhaars are going through a strict program in order to become breedable. Thus the dogs are tested in both field and water, their sharpeness is tested during a real hunting action, they are HD tested and also judged in a conformation show. That is why our breeding stock is coming from the best German bloodlines, as we have trust completely that the German breeding system ensures that all breeding dogs have proved their versatility.

Our dogs blood is mainly Hege-Haus, a fantastic kennel that produced highly versatile dogs that were also beautiful and had attractive colors. We have also introduced Pottmes blood, this being the oldest active German kennel.

Our main target is to produce versatile dogs that can please the small game hunter. Our dogs can also be a lovely companion, as they are pleasant to have around. Of course we love also beautiful dogs, everybody likes a beautiful animal. But the biggest satisfaction for a bird hunter is to have a great hunting companion for the beautiful hunting parties and to enjoy the dogs beautiful points or to have the shot duck retrieved from the middle of the lake, while his non-dog hunting partner is looking dissapointed at his shot duck floating on the water.
